Nokia 6255i Cell Phone

Nokia continues to provide a high quality and much desired product in their cell phone offerings and their 6255i flip top model does not disappoint. If you want a cell phone that is lightweight, attractive, and comes with scads of features, then this baby is for you.

Amongst flip phones, the Nokia 6255i is certain to be noticed by cell phone afficionados. No bare bones model, the 6255i comes loaded with the following standard features:

  • Camera with flash and digital zoom

  • Video recorder

  • Streaming audio and video

  • MP3 player

  • Bluetooth wireless connectivity

  • Voice dialing

  • Oh, yeah, the 6255i can also be successfully used to talk with someone too! This is almost an afterthought when you consider its terrific features.

Because of its popularity, no less than twelve service providers have signed on to sell this 4.4 oz wonder. Therefore, your choices of carriers are excellent; shop around and compare the best plans.

I have seen the 6255i offered for as low as $49 after rebates when a two year plan is purchased. Not bad when you consider that the model retails for as much as $299 when purchased separately. You may be able to find an even better offer when shopping online.

Other leading Nokia flip top models worth a look include the 6170 featuring a camera, video, and voice capabilities; and the 7270 featuring GSM capabilities. In all, Nokia remains a formidable competitor in the ever growing cell phone marketplace and the 6255i is a strong entrant.

The Samsung 42 Plasma -- Samsung HP-P4271 42in HDTV Ready Plasma Television

The new fourth-generation Samsung 42 plasma is out, offering state-of-the-art high performance high-definition display and resolution.

As opposed to the liquid crystal type display technology, plasmas create their stunningly life-like pictures through a complicated gas-based system. The plasma display idea has been around since 1964, but is only now coming into its own for practicality.

At a slim and trim 3.4 inches in depth, the flat-screened plasma takes up virtually no space in your room, making it the screen of choice for both home and office. This plasma's high-end display resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels gives a picture quality and depth of color that are outstanding.

The Samsung plasma television screen under discussion is 42 inches, measured diagonally. Plasmas range in sizes from 32" up to the gigantic 63" screen. A 42" plasma screen is best viewed from ten to fourteen feet away, and has a high-end 160 degree viewing angle that is completely uniform, due to its perfectly flat screen.

The "Virtual Surround" audio system for this Samsung plasma TV simulates multiple-channel surround sound using fewer speakers. It has SAP/MTS stereo which enables three-channel audio encoding, an audio leveler which evens out sudden volume changes such as commercials, and Secondary Audio Programming (SAP) which allows reception of more than one soundtrack simultaneously.

Samsung plasma televisions are built from scratch in the factory. The HP-P4271 has almost twice as many pixels as EDTV plasmas, resulting in a clearer, sharper image. A great investment in your home entertainment center.

Hitachi Half Life 55-hdm71 Plasma TV

This flat screen television, the Hitachi Plasma Half Life 55-HDM71, performs sharply and smoothly. With its high resolution of 1366 x 768, this plasma flat TV can't be beat. There is 20% more picture on this 55" screen than there is on a standard 50" screen. The 10 bit image processing on Hitachi Plasma Half Life 55-HDM71 brings a vibrant picture with 1.07-billion color capability and great contrast, which makes it perform like a smaller television.

Aside from the screen capabilities, this Hitachi plasma flat TV also includes extension modes, full serial control, and a 20-watt audio amplifier. On top of this, there is picture-in-picture and split-screen image control for home theater and commercial use. Additionally, there is the option of including a swivel table top stand, wall mount bracket, and black or silver side mount speakers. Along with the Hitachi plasma monitors' normal technology and seamless integration, it makes for a great flat tv.

The single drawback to the Hitachi Plasma Half Life 55-HDM71 is that it ships with "black enhancement on." This means when you are watching the TV, there will be no detail in the dark scenes, but it is resolved easily enough. If you turn off the back enhance, and change the colors settings a bit, it will solve the problem. There are several things that can be done to extend the life of the display. Along with screen savers that employ orbiting, inverting and wiping to refresh the screen, there are also many other options to maximize the life on this plasma TV.

Cold Heat Soldering the Cold Truth

You have seen it on TV, you have heard about it on the Radio, the internet is full of sites where you can buy it. The Cold Heat Soldering Tool.

What is cold heat? It is not new. It is not revolutionary. Cold heat is a marketing term to get you to spend your money on soldering tool. This soldering tool works very simply. It creates a high watt electronic arc between two points. This electric arc melts solder if it is between the two points.

Great concept. Right? The fact that most things that need to be soldered are electronic in nature might want to be considered. Is the computer you are reading this on plugged into a surge protector? Why? Electronic components do not like quick burst of high watts and volts.

The electric arc is passed between two points, the heat is between the points. How wide are these points, can the distance be varied? No. Do flash solder joints have electrical and structural integrity? No.

What is the advantage of cold heat soldering. The soldering effect is very quick. (Try making toast in the microwave) The cold heat soldering tool is cordless and portable. Cold heat soldering tool minimizes the chance of the operator burning themselves.

Cold Heat Soldering Tool is an exceptional tool for people who should not operate stoves, ovens, toasters and are not allowed to play with matches.

If your skill level is higher than the above mentioned there is a cordless soldering tool that provides exceptional soldering characteristics. The system comes with a safety switch and cap.

For a comprehensive look at this soldering tool without the sarcasm, visit: http://www.cordlesssolderingiron.net

Bagless Vacuum Cleaners – Better Value in the Long Run

Ever since the early nineteen nineties, bagless vacuum cleaners have been chipping away at the market dominance of their bagged vacuum cleaner counterpart. Claiming to best the bagged variety of cleaner in a number of different ways, bagless vacuum cleaners generally carry a higher price tag too. For the most part, you get what you pay for with bagless vacuum cleaners; so even if you are on a budget, don’t let the price tag put you off.

Purchasing a vacuum cleaner is, for most people, a necessary evil, and many of us try to spend as little of our hard earned cash on these household cleaners as we possibly can. For this reason, the price of bagless vacuum cleaners can seem a little like a waste of money. But even if all the talk of continuous vacuum cleaning power and no loss of suction doesn’t convince you, bagless vacuum cleaners really can be well worth the price.

For a start, bagless vacuum cleaners don’t require the regular investment involved in purchasing vacuum cleaner bags. It’s true that bagless vacuum cleaners do require maintenance, but what cleaner doesn’t, and the best vacuum bagless vacuum cleaners will offer filters that can be washed several times before requiring replacement. This factor alone is significant enough to a large number of consumers to push any bagless vacuum cleaner rating up a few notches.

While they do involve a larger initial expenditure, the best bagless vacuum cleaners will be sturdily made and should last a long time. Check out a bagless vacuum cleaner rating before you choose the cleaner for you, as these are invaluable in providing you with the inside scoop on bagless vacuum cleaners. Read the words of the consumers who have been there before you to ensure that you get one of the best bagless vacuum cleaners for you.

There’s no denying that bagless vacuum cleaners tend to be more expensive than their bagged counterparts, but any bagless vacuum cleaner rating will testify that you really do get a better clean with a vacuum that’s easy to maintain. And while there are a few cheap bagless vacuum cleaners available, it’s best to steer clear of them and opt for a sturdily made cleaner produced by a reliable manufacturer. Once you spend a little extra investing in bagless vacuum cleaners, you won’t ever go back to bagged.

    Wheelchair Batteries

Batteries used in things like wheel chairs are essential for every day living and it is not convenient when they die. When you depend on a battery for mobility, it is crucial that the battery is a powerful one.

Batteries designed specifically for electric motors are known as traction batteries. They are constructed is several ways. One is a gel-battery in which electrolyte gel packs are used to avoid spilling common in lead-acid batteries. A newer traction battery on the market is the AGM battery, or absorbed glass mat battery. In this battery, the electrolyte is embedded in between boron-silicate glass mats. Just like gel-batteries they will not spill if broken, but AGM batteries can take much more mechanical abuse from things like shock and vibration.

AGM wheelchair batteries are also more ideal because of their charge and discharge rates. Charging an AGM battery is similar to most standard batteries, so there is no need for a special charger, and there are no problems with incompatible chargers. AGM batteries have a very low self-discharge rate which allows them to sit for periods of time without recharging. AGM batteries also charge quite rapidly.

AGM batteries are a great and safe alternative to the hazardous lead-acid batteries. In cases of mobility, spillage can be a deadly issue. Wheelchair batteries can be quite expensive, but they are long lasting and crucial for those who need them to get around.

    Kodak CX7300 Digital Camera

Quality digital cameras are becoming affordable for just about everyone these days. Kodak's entry into the low cost end of the market is their CX7300 3.2 mega pixel model. You just may be surprised at what a terrific value it is. Please read on.

As recently as two years ago, if you were shopping for a 3.0 mega pixel or greater camera, you would have paid approximately $249. for one. Today, prices have tumbled and it isn't uncommon to find cameras in this category going for $150 or less. Recents sale prices I have observed have brought this price down further with one retailer selling the Kodak CX7300 for just under $100.

As you may know a 3.0 meg camera is ideal if you are taking pictures to post online. Anything greater isn't necessary, so there is no need to expend the extra bucks for a 5.0, 6.0, or even 7.0 meg camera.

This particular Kodak model is no bare bones model either. Top features include:

    3.2 million pixels

    3x digital zoom

    1.6" color display

    Red eye reduction

    Self timer

    Color modes

    Multiple scene modes

    Movie mode

    16 MB internal memory

    Easy Share software

The CX7300 is easy to use and picture quality is very good. Kodak also markets this model camera as a C300, so shop around and see what your retailer is offering.

    Solar Chargers

Solar chargers are a great option for people always on the move. If people are always traveling, a solar charger is a wonderful user-friendly option that won’t drain resources.

ICP solar chargers are an excellent brand of charger that is guaranteed to work. If you are dependent on your battery to operate machinery or vehicles, this guarantee is essential. Having a battery charger that does not work when you are stuck miles away from civilization is not a good thing. ICP solar chargers are also a great idea for backup power in a small home or cabin.

Solar power has often been commended for its environmentally-friendly capability to provide energy. One solar panel can charge a 12Volt battery in full with direct sunlight at a rate of 7 Amps or more. The power is then electrochemically stored within the battery.

ICP offers a range of chargers for devices like cell phones, PDAs, and other small electrical appliances. With these chargers, you simply plug the device into the solar charger and let it do its job. ICP also offers chargers for higher power machines like cars, motorcycles, heavy duty trucks, even marine and RV applications.

The ICP solar chargers range in price from $30 to $500. However, it is well worth the investment and there are no recurring electrical utility costs associated with charging.

Rss To Blog Pro - A 6-Month Review

    Background
Search engines are particularly interested in websites with constantly updated, relevant content. Websites that appear static without a supply of fresh content may be viewed as dormant and in their drive to provide the latest, most relevant search results to users, search engines may rank such a website lower than a website that is updated regularly.

    What Is It?
RSS to Blog Pro is a fully automated blog posting tool offering self-updating websites. It's a PHP script that is installed on a single web hosting account. From this centralised installation, multiple blogs can be maintained with fresh content from various sources. Also available is an earlier, non-pro version, which has the same basic functionality, but requires a separate install for each blog it maintains.

    What Problem Does It Solve?
Adding fresh - and importantly, relevant - content to websites can be a resource consuming task. Either you spend time finding and creating new content or you pay someone to do it for you. Without fresh content, your websites can appear stagnant and drop off the search engines radar. This impacts your website rankings in search results and ultimately has a detrimental effect on any free traffic coming from the search engines. If your websites rely on search engine traffic then this can mean their downfall.

    What Are The Benefits?
RSS to Blog Pro tackles the problem of needing to regularly update website content by automating the whole process from finding relevant content based upon keywords that you provide through to posting content to your website blog. In the eyes of search engines, updating a website with irrelevant content isn't nearly as good as having relevant content. The tighter your niche, the better chances you have of ranking higher as you'll be competing with a smaller number of websites. Using a scattergun approach to website content can mean you end up competing with websites across a large number of niches.

If you're building content websites with the aim of earning an AdSense income then you'll know that the ads shown are dependant upon the surrounding content on your webpages. Irrelevant content results in ads that are irrelevant to your website visitors, which means they'll have no interest in clicking on them and your generated income will be poor.

    Features

    * Supports multiple blog types including WordPress, Blogger Blogs, Movable Type, Type Pad, Live Journal and MSN Spaces.
    * Keywords and RSS feeds can be specified for automatic content generation or you can supply your own content.
    * Posting to your blogs can be scheduled at random intervals e.g. once or twice a day so that posting appears natural.
    * There are no 'footprints' to identify the content as being automatically generated.
    * Log records are kept so you can see exactly what has been posted and to where.
    * Built-in ping functionality for blog and ping.
    * A single installation will post to an unlimited number of blogs.
    * Regular updates.
    * User support forum.
    * Two tier affiliate programme offering 40% commission to the top level and 10% for any sales from affiliates you recruit.

My Experience With RSS to Blog Pro
Since August 2005, I've been using RSS to Blog Pro on an increasing number of blogs in various niches. I'm pleased to be able to say that my income from AdSense has increased month upon month since then. With the software installed on my virtual private server (VPS), I currently manage around 50 blogs, posting relevant new content every day or two. I'd recommend that you don't install RSS to Blog Pro onto a shared server because if you're updating a large number of websites or you're running the script frequently (every couple of minutes) then your host is likely to take a dim view on it. Considering how inexpensive and how much more reliable a VPS is to operate there just isn't any reasonable justification for risking a shared server. A VPS is like having your own server, completely isolated from any other peoples websites so you can't affect them and they can't affect you. There is the exception of disk IO, but that isn't something that should be of any real concern.

The issue of relevancy is really what makes the difference between an effective auto content generation tool and one that will never do anything for your bottom line. I can't stress it enough; without relevant content, search engines won't be able to categorise your niche and won't be able to rank you fairly amongst your peers. That means you won't do well in searches in your subject area. It also could mean your website will serve ads for tennis equipment when your niche is dog care. Visitors looking for information about dog care are highly unlikely to be interested in tennis equipment when they come to your website because it's not something which is relevant to their needs at that time.

There's no doubt that this helps to keep those websites looking fresh and my website stats show a constant stream of visits to my blog pages each month. And of course, lots of targetted visitors and lots of targetted content means a lot of clicks on targetted ads!

Support-wise, Michelle (creator of RSS to Blog Pro) has answered my email queries promptly and there's an active user forum for peer support. Michelle also visits the forum to provide assistance although some queries can take a couple of days for a response, however the user base, support forum and software is mature enough to be able to cope with almost every common question a new user might have.

Fortunately, the software is easy to install and set-up so you can expect to be running within an hour or two.

One feature that I haven't used is the ability to ping blog directories from within RSS to Blog Pro. The reason for this is that if I pinged these websites for every post made to each of my blogs then I'd actually end up pinging up to 50 times a day from the same domain (the domain on which RSS to Blog Pro is installed). Rather than risk being blacklisted for pinging too much and hogging the resources of the directories, I use the ping facility from with my WordPress blog software instead so that the individual pings come from the individual domains. Again, this will appear to be a lot more natural and it also helps RSS to Blog Pro to work more efficiently by decoupling some of the work away from it.

    Conclusion
After 6 months of constant usage, I'm pretty happy with RSS to Blog Pro's performance. and would definitely recommend it to anyone who is wanting to have self-updating websites that attract targetted traffic. Care needs to be taken when selecting a host for the script, but once installed, operation of the script is simple and reliable. An excellent script in the toolbox of AdSense earners and affiliate marketers alike.

Ebook Review: The One Month Magnate

    EBOOK DETAILS
    File Size: 1.55mb Unzipped.
Number of Pages: 1 long scrolling page.
    Format: Executable (.exe)
Subject: The One Month Magnate is a step by step guide to how Tony Shepherd created a product to sell on the internet starting from scratch. That means no mailing list and no website, just his past experience.

ABOUT TONY SHEPHERD (AUTHOR OF THE ONE MONTH MAGNATE)
Tony Shepherd is one of the UK's most private Internet Marketers. Co-owner of Laycock Publishing with marketing guru Sara Brown, Tony has written several books and made his living from the Internet for a number of years. Tony usually writes under different names and keeps his private life away from work, making sure the latter is kept to a minimum.

    ABOUT THE EBOOK
The One Month Magnate shows how Tony Shepherd given a computer and an Internet connection went from earning nothing to over $4,000 in 30 days. He did not use a website or his mailing list. The ebook tells in great detail, with screenshots and links, how Tony did this. He divulges all the tools he used and exactly how he did it. In his own word "I follow this blueprint every time I'm setting up a new business."

    In the ebook Tony discusses:
    · How most Internet users willingly tell you what they're prepared to pay money for, without you even realising!!
    · How experience is NOT Important!!
    · The blueprint he uses to launch all his new businesses!!
    · Why he will never work for an Employer again!!
    · How he did it EXACTLY including the EXACT amount of money earned, and the EXACT way he implemented the blueprint, with screenshots to illustrate this!!
    · How to become an Expert in your chosen field!!
    · How to use free gifts to make Money!!
    · How experts can help you make money for Free!!
    · What he would have done the following month to increase his Profits!!

The process Tony follows involves three main stages; Research, Becoming an Expert, and Marketing and Selling the Product. In the research stage, Tony tells you all the tools he uses to decide upon and research his product. Then he tells you about the sources he uses to become an expert in this field. Finally, Tony tells you the methods he would use to market and sell his product (without a website remember). On top of this there is even a bonus section outlining what Tony would have done if he had an extra 11 days to market his product.

Upon reading this ebook I was very impressed. Firstly, impressed about the amount of money Tony actually made, and secondly I was impressed about the level of honesty and detail within the ebook. Tony tells you exactly what he did and what he didn't. For example, Tony admits that he didn't set up a website to promote his product because he didn't have time. It definitely gives you an interesting idea on how 30 days hard work could potentially provide you with a regular income.

This ebook is aimed at readers who have a reasonable knowledge of Internet Marketing. You will need to know how to use forums, how to create the product you decide upon, and how to accept payments online. If you do not yet know how to do this then some research is required. You can easily do this by searching on http://www.google.com/. Once you have done the above, I would heartily recommend this ebook as it provides one of the most in-depth looks I have come across on researching, promoting, and selling a product on the Internet, in such a short period. Obviously, if you had longer you would be able to market your product in much greater depth and perhaps use more methods to do so, but given the short-time period, this is a seriously impressive ebook.

    GOOD POINTS
    · Gives readers a step by step system with screenshots that can easily be applied to almost any product.
    · The section on how to become an expert with no prior knowledge of the field is particularly useful. With this information, the products you could release are virtually limitless.
    · All the methods of promotion outlined are very effective yet require no financial expenditure.
    · The methods used will generate residual income i.e. Tony would have generated at least the same amount of money every consecutive month, following this blueprint.
    · The style of writing is to the point and easy to follow.
    · The text is broken up by images making it easier to read.

    BAD POINTS
    · The ebook is mainly aimed at the short-term even though Tony does say what he would have done in the next 10 days (medium-term). It does not discuss more long-term forms of Internet Marketing.
    · Although it touches on a lot of key Internet Marketing methods, it does not go into great detail on them.
    · It leaves you wondering what other ebooks Tony Shepherd has written (under his other aliases) with no way to find out.

HOW I HAVE GAINED FROM THE ONE MONTH MAGNATE
At the moment I have not implemented the ideas from The One Month Magnate, as I am focusing at the moment on creating an ebook on a field in which I am quite knowledgeable. However, this ebook is definitely going to be useful for future reference. I can definitely see myself creating some successful products by following Tony's blueprint.

    The Encyclopedia Britannica 2006

The Encyclopedia Britannica 2006 (established in 1768) is a completely revamped product. Its interface is intuitive and uncluttered. It is far more fun to use. For instance, it now offers a date-based daily selection of relevant articles. The search box is persistent - no need to click on the toolbar's "search" button every time you want to find something in this vast storehouse.

The new Britannica's display is tab-based, avoiding the erstwhile confusing proliferation of new windows with every move. Most importantly, articles appear in full - not in sections. This major improvement facilitates finding relevant keywords in and the printing of entire texts. These are only a few of dozens of user-friendly alterations and enhancements. The 2006 edition is a breakthrough. The Britannica seemed to have finally got it entirely right.

The Britannica provides considerably more text than any other extant encyclopedia, print or digital. But its has noticeably enhanced it non-textual content over the years (the 1994-7 editions had nothing or very little but words, words, and more words).

The Britannica fully supports serious research. It is a sober assemblage of first-rate essays, up to date bibliographies, and relevant multimedia. It is a desktop university library: thorough, well-researched, comprehensive, trustworthy.

The Britannica's 80-100,000 articles (depending on the version) are long and thorough, supported by impressive bibliographies, and written by the best scholars in their respective fields. The company's Editorial Board of Advisors reads like the who's who of the global intellectual and scientific community.

The Britannica comes bundled with an atlas (and 287 World data Profiles of individual countries and territories), the Merriam-Webster Dictionary and Thesaurus, classic articles from previous editions, eleven yearbooks, an Interactive Timeline, a Research Organizer, and a Knowledge Navigator (a Brain Stormer).

In its new form, the Britannica is as user-friendly as the Encarta. Regrettably, it is updated only 2-4 times a year, a serious drawback, only partially compensated for by 3 months of free access to the its impressive powerhouse online Web site.

The Britannica is an embarrassment of riches. Users often find the wealth and breadth of information daunting and data mining is fast becoming an art form. This is why the Britannica incorporated the Brain Stormer to cope with this predicament. But an informal poll I conducted online shows that few know how to deploy it effectively.

The Britannica also sports Student and Elementary versions of its venerable flagship product, replete with a Homework Helpdesk - but it is far better geared to tackle the information needs of adults and, even more so, professionals. It provides unequalled coverage of its topics. Ironically, this is precisely why the market positioning of the Britannica's Elementary and Student Encyclopedias is problematic.

The current edition is fully integrated with the Internet. Apart from the updates, it offers additional and timely content and revisions on a dedicated Web site. The digital product includes a staggering number of links (165,808!) to third party content on the Web. The GeoAnalyzer (compares national statistical data and generates charts and graphs) is now Web-based and greatly enhanced.

The Britannica would do well to offer a browser add-on search bar and integrate with new desktop search tools from Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, and others. A seamless experience is in the cards. Users must and will be able to ferret content from all over - their desktop, their encyclopedias, and the Web - using a single, intuitive interface.

Having used the product extensively in the last two weeks and on different platforms and operating systems, I find myself entertaining some minor gripes:

The atlas, dictionary, and thesaurus incorporated in the Britannica are surprisingly outdated. Why not use a more current - and dynamically updated - offering? What about dictionaries for specialty terms (medical or computer glossaries, for instance)?

Despite considerable improvement over the previous edition, the Britannica still consumes (not to say hogs) computer resource far in excess of the official specifications. This makes it it less suitable for installation on older PCs and on many laptops.

The Britannica now uses a new graphic and text renderer. On some systems, the user needs to modify his or her desktop settings to get rid of jagged fonts and blurry photos.

Moreover, despite the hype, relatively few users possess DVD drives (but those who do find the entire reference suite available on one DVD).

But that's it. Don't think twice. Run to the closest retail outlet (or surf to the Britannica's Web site) and purchase the 2006 edition now. It offers excellent value for money (less than $50) and significantly enhances you access to knowledge and wisdom accumulated over centuries all over the world.

    A 21” LCD TV – A Versatile Mid-Range Size

Some consumers consider a 21” LCD TV to be the perfect size: for TV viewing and for use as a computer monitor. Some take it one step further: they integrate their 21” LCD TV with a home theater PC. It’s easier than you think, and a home theater PC setup lets you access any media files like digital image files, audio files, and videos. You can also watch your favorite television shows or DVDs, and you can even use the 21” LCD TV as a computer monitor. It’s no surprise, then, that some consumers feel a 21” LCD TV is one of the most versatile screen sizes available.

If you watch digital TV on your 21” LCD TV, you could be already taking advantage of the possibilities of Digital Video Recorders (DVR) or TiVo. You can go one step farther; integrating your 21” LCD TV with a home theater PC setup is the ultimate in versatility. And it’s not that hard – here are a few ways available to you.

    1. Buy a PC with the Media Center version of Windows XP and make sure it has a TV tuner card capable of capturing digital signals from your cable or satellite box. Once it’s installed, it works just like a DVR. You won’t need to buy a high-end PC to integrate with your 21” LCD TV if you just want to record and play shows and movies – if you also want to play graphics-intensive video games, you may need a more expensive PC with greater graphics capability. Just make sure you get plenty of memory.

    2. Upgrade your PC. You can buy a copy of Microsoft’s operating system with Media Center. Frequently it comes bundled with a TV tuner card you’ll also need. If you have decent computer skills you can handle the installation fairly easily and your 21” LCD TV home theater PC setup will be running in no time.

    3. If you don’t want to upgrade to a new operating system, a number of software companies produce applications that perform the same chores as Media Center does. A few are available as freeware, but the features they offer tend to be limited. You’ll still need to factor in the cost of a TV tuner card – a TV tuner card won’t be included with the freeware.

Once you’ve decided how to set up your computer, you can integrate it into your home theater system so your 21” LCD TV can handle the video feed you send to it. A 21” unit is ideal for this purpose; sets that are larger sometimes deliver reduced image quality when the TV signal is sent through the computer.

How you send the signal to your TV is the main hurdle to overcome. There are many different audio and video options for joining the two; the method you choose will obviously depend on the inputs and outputs available on both your PC and your TV. Older, standard-definition LCD TVs will have, at a minimum, a composite-video connection (a yellow video connection that's usually accompanied by red and white stereo audio jacks). Hopefully, it will also provide an S-Video port. Newer 21” LCD TVs should provide component inputs, and more advanced 21” LCD TVs that are HDTV capable will supply DVI or HDMI inputs. If you haven’t purchased a 21” LCD TV yet, try to find a model with DVI or HDMI inputs.

Once your computer is connected to your 21” TV you can use Media Center to keep track of your media files and handle your DVR recording needs. If you want to record TV without using Media Center, similar products on the market can do the job. For example, SnapStream's Beyond TV comes bundled with many TV tuner cards, so if you're building a home theater or upgrading a machine you already own, you might end up with a copy by default. And you can take a further step and add the Beyond Media program for organizing photo, music, and other media files, and it does pretty much everything Media Center does. Beyond TV doesn't support every TV tuner card on the market, so check the hardware specs for your 21” LCD TV before you install it.

Even if you have no interest in recording TV programs, you can still use programs like Windows Media Player, iTunes, and PowerDVD to manage your preexisting media library using software you already have.

Whichever option you choose, make sure you have plenty of hard disk space; once you start recording television programs or watching your home videos on your 21” LCD TV, you'll find you need all the space you can get. And due to its increased versatility, you’ll find your 21” LCD TV is an even bigger part of your home entertainment system.

Review of Directory Generator by Armand Morin

Directory Generator is a software product that can generate hundreds of keyword-targeted web pages. The purpose is to help you get targeted traffic to your website so you can make more sales or earn commissions.

I was one of the earliest users of Directory Generator before it launched publicly August 26, 2004, so I’ve had a little head start in testing it.

Let me give you a little background info first: In late 2003, new traffic generating software appeared called Traffic Equalizer. I have to admit I knew nothing about it until recently. My guess as to why is that it is talked about mostly among big marketers, and probably mostly at seminars.

It’s just like Armand Morin to ride the traffic software wave and even try to make a better surfboard. And that’s what Directory Generator is.

It is supposed to be equivalent to software such as Ranking Power, Traffic Equalizer, and Traffic Hurricane, which allows you to get targeted traffic by generating pages that get high search engine rankings. The difference is, like most of what Armand does, the results are classier and more professional looking.

Of the previously mentioned programs, Traffic Hurricane is the only one that is free. Why pay for this other software if you can get it free? Because your Traffic Hurricane pages will have someone else’s Google AdSense ads on your pages, earning them money off your traffic. Now that I have Directory Generator, I don’t need someone else earning money from my traffic unless they’re going to pay me part of it. Selfish, aren’t I? One other thing: I’m surprised no one noticed this but Google doesn’t allow Adsense code to be placed on pages not owned by you, so the way this is set up might get someone into trouble.

I know what you’re thinking…Yeah, that’s nice but can Directory Generator really generate targeted traffic? Absolutely! The first website I created with Directory Generator is steadily earning Google AdWords income every single day without me doing a thing. It took 30 days for traffic and commissions to really start kicking in. I don’t want this to sound like hype but this is the easiest money I’ve made so far. Nevertheless the second website I made isn’t doing squat. But that just tells me: There’s no such thing as a sure thing. The domain name you choose and keywords you target can make a difference. But the second website also hasn’t been up as long, so we’ll see what happens…

Am I going to get rich off the money it’s generating? No, nor could someone quit their job with it, but at the rate it’s working I would earn the $250 price back fairly quickly. My goal was to first earn the domain fee back and I did. The site is listed in Google, but gets no traffic from there. Most of the traffic comes from other search engines. If it had multiple pages spidered by Google, look out!

I’ve heard through the grapevine of multiple people earning 4-figure monthly incomes from sites created with traffic-generating software. And I’ve heard of one person earning a six-figure income. For now, this test tells me that this software really does work.

Here’s a little secret: No one who uses traffic generating software will tell you their website URL. That’s because they don’t want people ripping off their profitable website. So you have to buy the software to see the sites it produces. At $250 a pop, that’s an expensive trial.

What do you do with the traffic it generates?

    1. You earn Google Adsense commissions (this feature is built into the software).
    2. You can add SearchFeed (you can’t add both. Google doesn’t allow it).
    3. You can add a Linkshare ad to earn additional commissions.
    4. The newest version lets you earn Amazon commissions.

BENEFITS: Easily generate 100s of keyword targeted pages for a niche directory.
Disadvantage: You still have to choose your keywords which will be your site theme. You have to know how to FTP the pages to your web host. Unlike Traffic Equalizer, the program won’t do it for you.

CONCLUSION: Highly recommended. Thank goodness Armand didn’t price this software too cheaply. If you only try one traffic-generating software program, I recommend Directory Generator.

Finding The Right 27” LCD TV

A 27” LCD TV provides a much better picture than the old CRT televisions – and they come in much more attractive styles. In many homes an LCD TV has become an integral feature in the entertainment room’s decorating scheme. They’re versatile, too. A flat screen 27” LCD TV can be mounted on a wall, under a cabinet, on the ceiling, or it can sit on a stand or on top of furniture. A 27” LCD TV comes in a size that is big enough to comfortably watch from a reasonable distance, but it’s also small enough to fit in even the smallest viewing rooms.

The 27” LCD market is also highly competitive – almost every television manufacturer makes at least one 27” model. Choosing the right model for your needs can be time-consuming; to get you started, take these steps as you search for the right TV for you.

First consider your room’s décor, and think about how you’ll sit relative to the TV. Because a 27” LCD TV has significantly higher resolution than a conventional TV, you’ll be able to sit closer than you normally would and view a larger screen much more comfortably. The optimum viewing distance for a 27” LCD TV is approximately 6 feet, so plan your furniture arrangement accordingly.

Then make a decision about whether you want or need HDTV. A 27” LCD TV with EDTV is less expensive to purchase but it won’t display high-definition signals. The price difference between a smaller HD-ready 27” LCD TV and an ED-ready 27” LCD TV is relatively small, so you're better off buying an HD-ready set. Many experts indicate there's little reason to buy a non-HD 27” LCD TV. A lower resolution LCD TV won't be able to accept high-definition signals, so the picture won't look any better than regular analog TV. In the next few years more and more TV signals will be in HD; since your 27” LCD TV should last for more than fifteen years, make sure it will grow with the technology.

Now try to purchase a set with an HDMI input. This port keeps the signal all-digital, avoiding degradation that can occur as the signal passes through other components (like your cable box). HMDI carries high-definition audio as well as video. Some satellite receivers and DVD players also connect through this port.

Narrow your choice of 27” LCD TV down further by determining if you want or need picture-in-picture functionality. Picture-in-picture allows you to view two video sources at once, with one appearing as a small window on the screen. If you do want picture-in-picture capability on your 27” LCD TV, remember that single-tuner picture-in-picture lets you watch television in one window and another source (like a DVD) in the second window. A 27” LCD TV with two tuners lets you watch two television sources at once. It’s a cool feature and once you have it you’ll find you don’t want to do without it, especially if you’re a sports or news junkie.

You’re almost done, but now you’ll want to check to see if the different models of 27” LCD TV you’re still considering are sold with a stand or mounting hardware included. Most 27” LCD TVs will come with a table stand wall mounting hardware costs an additional $100 to $200. If you do purchase a stand or mounting hardware separately, make sure it’s appropriate for the size and weight of your TV. The average 27” LCD TV is pretty heavy, so it pays to make sure your stand or hardware will safely support it.

Last, but certainly not least, inspect the manufacturer's return and warranty policy before buying online. Some manufacturers have strict policies regarding authorized dealers. If you buy a 27” LCD TV from an unauthorized dealer, the manufacturer may not offer warranty coverage. The retailer may offer a substitute warranty that sufficiently covers you – the only way to know for sure is to ask.

The price difference for a 27” LCD TV from an authorized dealer and from a discounter can be hundreds of dollars – and sometimes that’s the sole reason for the price difference - so make sure you’re comfortable with the risk of not having a warranty, or make sure you ask the discounter for information about warranty terms for the 27” LCD TV you’ve narrowed your choice down to.

MTL 1daycourseplans: What The Internet Was Made For

Have you ever wished you could have a huge supply of training course plans at your fingertips just waiting to be delivered? No research? No designing? No planning? Well, if so, MTL 1daycourseplans from ManageTrainLearn, is the product you’ve been waiting for.

MTL 1daycourseplans comes from the Internet e-learning company ManageTrainLearn and, as their name implies, it’s designed for anyone who is a manager, trainer or learner.

It’s also a remarkable product for 3 simple reasons.

    1. It’s Huge. If you purchased all the course plans on MTL 1daycourseplans, you’d end up with over 100 separate programmes. That’s more than enough for 3 months’ continuous training every day of the week and every hour of the day. Of course, unless you’re planning to open up your own training business, you may not want to do that, which is why you can just select the course plans that you do need in sets of 5.

All ManageTrainLearn programmes are arranged around 20 skill themes that they regard as the key skills for success in the 21st century. They include Appraisal, Facilitation, Change Management, Influencing and Negotiating Skills, and Personality Types. Just pick the course plans you want.

Incidentally, even though MTL 1daycourseplans with its 100 plus course plans is a big resource, it takes no more than a handful of megabytes on your computer. When you think of the savings you make over the paper equivalent, the cost of this product is worth it just for the saving in stress alone!

    2. It’s Easy. The clever thing about all ManageTrainLearn products is that they are easy to purchase, easy to download, and easy to use. Being one of the foremost e-learning companies around, everything you need to know about MTL products is on their website.

The big plus, however, that makes the decision to purchase a safe bet, is that you can download trial versions of all MTL products, including MTL 1daycourseplans, and test them out on your computer for as long as you like. And since all MTL products are guaranteed, you really don’t have any reason not to try them out whatever your thoughts about e-learning.

The other great thing about MTL 1daycourseplans, as with all other MTL products, is that there’s no waiting to get your courses. From purchase to use is just a matter of minutes, depending on your Internet connection. Isn’t this what the Internet was invented for?

    3. It Delivers. Of course, none of us buys any product just for the technology. So, the real question with MTL 1daycourseplans is: does it deliver? Well, the answer has to be a resounding Yes on all fronts.

As an example, take a look at the Leadership Skills set of plans. First of all, for the great value price of just £67.00 (or $), you get the following 5 plans:
    1. Leadership Styles
    2. The Qualities of Leadership
    3. Building People
    4. Managing or Leading?
    5. The Credibility of Leaders

The average number of screen pages in each of these plans is between 80 and 100, which if you’re new to the themes is enough to hold your hand through any programme. The day’s plan is neatly divided into 6 sessions, 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. Nothing is left to chance. You get a detailed introductory session, group session, and end-of-day review session, and 3 highly detailed theme sessions with topics, exercises, quizzes, and projects galore. In short, if you want to run a week’s worth of outstanding training on Leadership Skills, and don’t have all the resources yourself, buy this set and you’ll have more than enough to get the results you want.

There are many other goodies in MTL 1daycourseplans that make using it a real delight: a lovely colourful interface; easy intuitive navigation; an edit function to add your own notes; a print function to create your own handouts; and a bonus Certificate Maker that lets you create course certificates for each of your trainees.

MTL 1daycourseplans is a winner on all fronts. It’s exactly the kind of product that gives the Internet a good name. Buy it and you’ll be using it, and loving it, for years to come.

This is the first time I left an e-book with such a positive feeling and motivation to try some really new and effective marketing methods.
This was such a good suprise that I decided to start this page to review and finally promote the book
Specific comments ont The Rich Jerk e-book
Everyone reading those lines know that to develop an internet business you need :

    * An idea, a targeted and profitable niche, a business model
    * A performing and optimized website matching your goals and your business model
    * Targeted traffic
    * Relationship management

Most of the "how-to make money online" either cover highly specific topic (google adwords for example), either cover all the topic broadly.
Finally you end up these e-books (or audio tapes...)with a "So what???" in mind
The Rich Jerk method is about this "So what" as it tells the reader in a direct (autocratic) way what to do exactly to reach the sky.

The power and the value of this book comes from :

    * The concrete description of the most relevant methods : how it should be used to get the most of it
o Creating and effective affiliate website that sells
o Unique search engines PPC strategies
    o Search engine optimization strategies
o Creating and marketing informational product

o Easy and profitable Websites to set up quickly
o Other online ventures to consider

    * The overall organisation of the book which proves to what extent The Rich Jerk masters the subject and has just picked up the most relevant tools with the best examples and applications

    The main drawbacks are :

    * The apparent "Big Head" of the Rich Jerk
    * The chapter concerning online ventures (small one indeed) a little bit off topic

Bottom line for The Rich Jerk "Making Money on the internet is Easy"

    * This book is a must have if you're serious about making money on the internet. These 40 pages are full of valuable content and act as a true motivation to try a lot of things by yourself. You can be new to Internet Marketing, and you'll have a lot to test from this book. If you're an experienced marketer, you'll find a lot of tips to boost your income.
    * Of course you won't find the Million dollar secret, that could make you rich by tomorrow.
    * If you're not ready to make some efforts to develop your business, then this book is not for you.
    * If you plan to succeed, then this book will be your guide

Choose The Right Stand For A 42 Inch LCD TV

Unless you’re mounting your new 42 inch LCD TV on the wall or on the ceiling, you’ll need a solid and reliable stand to support it. Many TVs come furnished with an appropriate stand, but some require that the stand be purchased separately. If the manufacturer furnishes your 42 inch LCD TV stand, and it meets your needs in terms of styling, you’re in great shape. Because your 42 inch LCD TV could become an integral part of the room’s decorating scheme, though, you may choose to purchase a stand that matches the needs of your viewing habits, your home, and your sense of style.

Because a 42 inch LCD TV is reasonably heavy, the most important requirement is that any stand must handle the weight of your particular 42 inch LCD TV and must provide a stable base in case it’s bumped or jarred. For that reason, make sure the stand you purchase meets the unique weight and strength requirements of the 42 inch LCD TV you purchased. The last thing you want to have happen is for your new TV to become damaged simply because your stand wasn’t up to the task. The owner’s manual for your 42 inch LCD TV will specify all the requirements of a suitable and effective TV stand for that model.

There are a few other considerations besides strength, though. Let’s look at a few other decisions you’ll want to make to ensure you get the maximum enjoyment from your 42 inch LCD TV.

    1. Determine if the stand needs to hold other audio-visual equipment? If you own a DVD player, use a cable converter, have game systems like an Xbox or a PS2, and/or have a home theater system, you may want your stand to house that equipment as well as support the 42 inch LCD TV itself. Make sure you pick a stand that has shelves or compartments for the equipment you own, or even may someday own.

    2. Determine if the stand will position your TV at an optimal viewing height. The height of the TV is an individual choice – make sure the stand you select will place your 42 inch LCD TV at the height you want. If you can, find an adjustable stand that gives you some flexibility. If not, determine the right height for you and select an appropriate height stand. An easy way to calculate your optimal height is to sit in your favorite chair or couch and determine how high your eye level is. Once you’ve determined eye level, make sure your 42 inch LCD TV will be centered at that point.

Many stands are pre-engineered to approximate an appropriate viewing level for the average person, but make sure you’re comfortable with that height before you make a purchase. Some pedestal stands are adjustable; if you don’t need storage space, check out a pedestal stand.

    3. Check to see if the stand has integrated cable management. If you’re buying a cabinet with a closed back, cable management probably isn’t an issue, since you’ll have plenty of space to hide cables. If you’re interested in a pedestal stand or a stand with an open back, make sure there are provisions built in to hide all the cables you may have. If you have a home theater, video gaming system, DVD player, and other components, you’ll have a large number of cables running from component to component – make sure the stand gives you plenty of room to store those cables out of sight. The stand shouldn’t just house your 42 inch LCD TV – it should handle all the cables and components, too.

Once you’ve found the right 42 inch LCD TV, finding a stand suits your needs and fits you’re your room’s décor and design is important, too. Make sure you can enjoy your TV while it’s turned on, and how it looks when it’s not turned on.

•It comes in attractive small sizes and thus tends to be very handy and compact.

•Thus by enabling connection with the user’s computer, the iPod prove to serve as efficient storage devices.
•iPods sport a display, which makes the gadget more user friendly.
•Improvised iPods also had PDA’s( Personal Digital Assitants).
•Apple, the creators of iPod kept on improvising it, and thus many models of iPod have rocked the market.

The models of iPod categorized according to the chronological order.

    First Generation iPods:

Initially the iPods were released with 5GB hard drive, but then later Apple increased their hard drive capacity to 10GB. These iPods have a scroll wheel with a select button in the middle. This device was a huge hit in the commercial market, but now they rarely exist due to the release of new models.

    Second generation iPods:

They introduced micro-drive hard drive as the storage medium. The minis were futher improvised as the first generation and second generation devices. It had rich case colors and was a big hit in the market.

    iPod shuffle:

Flash memory was introduced through these gadgets, but they did not have a screen so navigation of music files were a little difficult. But it has been reviewed as the best sounding audio device in comparison with the other models.

    iPod nano:

iPod nano also had the flash memory but it came with a color display. It also included a number of features like world clock, stop watch and screen lock options.

How to repair the E18 error on Canon digital cameras

There seems to be a relatively large population of Canon owners who are affected by the E18 error. In this article I will teach you a few simple methods you can try to repair the error yourself.

This article is intended for people whose cameras are out of warranty. If your camera is still under warranty, go to your nearest Canon repair shop and let them fix it. If it’s not, you can either choose to pay around 150$ for the repair or try one of these simple techniques.

First I should explain what exactly an E18 is. According to Canon’s web site, it is an error that involves the lens unit or lens cover. The lens gets stuck in the extended position, and refuses to move either to focus the lens or to retract when powered off. It can happen if you apply pressure to the area surrounding the lens while it is in the recording mode (this includes dropping the camera), or if sand or dirt get into the lens area. The lens gets stuck, you get a black screen with a small "E18" sign in the lower-left corner, the camera beeps a few times and turns off.

Lately, I noticed a number of people online who are having troubles with this error. It happened to my Power Shot A520 as well a couple of weeks ago, but fortunately, the camera was still under warranty so Canon fixed it free of charge. In order to help the unlucky ones whose cameras are out of warranty, I decided to write this article.

Basically, there are a couple of simple things you can try. I can’t guarantee they will work for you, but I know these methods have helped some people get rid of their E18 problems:

    1) One method is to tap the padded USB cover part on a hard surface, for example, a desk. I know it sounds to simple to work, but this can get some of the dirt out of the lens.

    2) Try compressed air. With a fine tip blow off gun and dry compressed air set the tip between the lens turret and the camera body and turn on the air while moving the tip around the lens. It should remove all of the dust and sand. Turn the camera on and it should function fine.

    3) Another solution is to try and push the lens back into place. This is the least preferable method. Try it only if the camera is out of warranty and DON’T apply too much pressure! If the lens can be set back into place with a light push, great! If not, don’t force it!

    4) If nothing else works, there are a couple of online guides in different languages for dismantling the camera and cleaning the lens thoroughly. Try this only if your camera is out of warranty! Some of them are:

    - http://www.ixus-world.de/tips/repair_guide/e18_01en.htm - a guide in English
    - http://menthol.hit.bg/E18.html - a guide in Bulgarian
    - http://www.artecdesign.ee/~jan/Kaamerad/PowerShotA70/index.html - Estonian guide

The last two are not in English, but they have a lot of pictures which should help with the whole process.

So you’ve learned how you can try and rescue your camera. Try out the methods for yourself, and contact me with good news.

If you want more information about the E18 error, or would like to read other people’s experiences with it, stop by my site at http://www.e18error.com. Feel free to drop me an email.

    Cameras – Pictures Capture Time

The magic of capturing the smile of a beloved, the blending hues of a sunset, the expression on a baby’s face, sends thrills of anticipation to people of every culture,of every age. What was considered a miracle two hundred years ago now casually blends into one’s every day activities. The
invention of the simple black box in France started an industry that has evolved as fast as the technology required for any new-age product.

Cameras now come in price ranges that allow you to even throw them away after taking one roll of pictures. They also come in the most complex, computerized packages that only the richest pros consider purchasing. Although the original concept of the camera began to be developed around the
1830s, it wasn’t until around the 1900s that more people could afford to buy one or have the film developed or have their picture taken professionally. By the 1930s and 1940s, cameras acquired a permanent niche in the hearts of the average person. Since then thousands of brands and models
have appeared, only to be replaced with the newest technology of the day.

In order to focus more precisely, the earlier camera had a bellows, allowing the distance from the lens to the film to be adjusted. The greatest fear of those owning the bellows-style camera was an accidental, fine pin-hole that allowed unwanted light in.Being opened and closed hundreds of times
tended to create cracks in the corners where they folded. The leaky bellows problem ruined many a picture, to the sorrow of the photographer.

Features the photographers wanted, and after a while received, were film on a roll rather than having to use a plate. Next came film stop mechanisms so that winding the film to the next spot became more accurate. Features that kept one from making double exposures delighted many
photographers. Adding flash in such a way that it was actually usable surged the sale of cameras forward.

Just as the movies were originally silent movies and only came in black and white, the first still cameras only used black and white film. The two industries moved forward on parallel paths. Once color film technology existed for one, the other quickly adapted its products. Colored slides and
slide projectors became favorites for taking those vacation pictures and showing them to friends. It wasn’t long before a regular homeowner could make a color movie of the kids. When sound was added to the movie theaters, the movie fan began adding sound to the home movies. That home movie film was sent to a professional developer for processing.

The speed of technological inventions increased. Along with computers in every home came the age of the Video Camcorder and the Digital Camera. Instant pictures! Instant movies. No developing necessary. Everything happens with instant playback!

One aspect of the camera industry hasn’t changed over the years: the thrill, the magic, of capturing a moment in time,to be treasured and shared with the world.Cameras have reduced the size of the planet in our mind’s eye and fostered understanding among the different cultures and races of the world. This is a camera’s most priceless quality and gift.

    Fujifilm FinePix A303 Digital Camera

Two years ago I purchased my first digital camera. At that time, prices for a 3.0 and higher mega pixel camera were around $350. Since then, as with all electronic gadgets, prices have dropped significantly while the mega pixels have gone up. I chose the Fujifilm's A303 digital camera, which has fared well for me, so permit me the opportunity to tell you why.

I desperately needed a digital camera when my web business took off. On many different occasions I found myself wanting to take a picture of a person, place or thing and having to rely on a 35mm camera. Trouble was I wasn't very good at taking pictures. Usually my subject came out blurry or the picture needed cropping. Yes, getting pictures developed on disk would have resolved the latter problem, but it was the former problem -- blurry pictures -- that was causing me the most grief. If only I could see "on the spot" how my picture turned out. If it turned out poorly, I could reshoot. Naturally, a digital camera presented to me something that no 35mm camera could offer; I made the purchase of a 3.2 mega pixel camera by Fujifilm after considerable shopping around and reading product reviews online.

Packed within a tough grey shell, the A303 is lightweight and can fit easily into your pant pockets. The camera's controls are simple to figure out and include a Menu/OK button, Back button, viewfinder, viewfinder lamp, a display buttion and LCD monitor to preview pictures without looking through the viewfinder or to review pictures already taken. A round dial in the back of the camera features a self timer mode where you can set the camera and ten seconds later have the picture go off. Great for when you want to get the entire family's picture and no one is around to take it. There are also close up modes, still image, playback and movie modes. The movie mode results in a fairly choppy and short film, but it is a neat feature to have nevertheless.

The standard camera comes equipped with a 16mb picture card. Most people will find that inadequate, so I paid a little bit extra and bought the 64mb upgrade. I also purchased rechargeable AA batteries -- it takes two -- and a recharger. You will sap your batteries quickly if you take 30-40 or more pictures at a time, so the recharger makes sense. I purchased the accompanying Fujifilm carrying case to house my other supplies.

Pictures come out clear and in two years of picture taking I have not experienced a single problem with the camera. At 3.2 mega pixels the pictures are more than adequate as virtually everything I do gets posted to the internet. Supposedly you do not need more mega pixels when posting/viewing pictures online. With the included USB cable and HP software, you will be uploading pictures to the internet in no time.

If there are any drawbacks with the A303 there is just one and it is a glaring problem: the time between shots can seem endless! I suppose the elapsed time is only about ten seconds, but it seems like an eternity especially compared to 35mm cameras. Technological improvements have closed the gap considerably with newer models, but if you need this camera to take a group of shots quickly you will be disappointed.

All in all, the A303 is a very good camera. I give it a 4-star rating for ease of use, price, and dependability.

Flat Screen Monitors: A Technological Wonder

You probably are already aware that there are two types of computer monitors available today: the big and clunky cathode-ray (CRT) tube monitors and the newer flat screen monitors. These flat panel monitors have a number of advantages over the older type of computer monitors. They are far sleeker, more space-saving and weigh much less. Flat screen monitors are also designed to be more energy-efficient and reduces eye strain. Flat screen monitors use the technology called Liquid Crystal Display or LCD. There are also flat screen CRT monitors available. Both LCD flat panel monitors and CRT flat-screen monitors are fast gaining popularity as a much sleeker and more modern alternative to traditional, bulky monitors of yesterday.

An LCD or liquid crystal display is characterized by a thin and flat display device that is composed of either color or monochrome pixels that are arranged in front of a light source or a reflector. There are two types of LCDs: transmissive and reflective displays. These types differ according to the source of light. A reflective LCD is illuminated by exterior light. A common example of a reflective LCD is the display of a digital watch. Meanwhile, a transmissive display draws its light source from the back through a backlight. This category of LCDs usually requires high luminance levels. Televisions, computer displays, PDAs and mobile phones use transmissive LCDs.

Flat screen monitors have significant advantages over the traditional CRT monitors. Because these monitors are perfectly flat visually and physically, they offer a clearer, more vivid and undistorted pictures from any angle. The images on a flat panel monitor is much more crisp and high quality. This is the reason why flat screen monitors significantly reduce eye strain among its users, another important advantage. There is no curvature on the screen’s surface that will distort any on-screen images. And since the pictures are sharper with more brilliant colors, staring at a flat screen monitor becomes more of a pleasure than a strain.

Flat screen monitors are also much more ergonomic. This means that these types of monitors follow ergonomic requirements and thus add comfort and convenience for the worker. The flat screen monitor is viewable from any angle and is typically fitted on a swivel base with adjustable headlight. This allows for more freedom of movement for the user since the flat screen monitor can be easily adjusted to meet the specific viewing needs. Flat screen monitors are also very space-efficient taking up less desk real estate than older computer monitors. Most LCD flat screen monitors are only about an inch thick and weighs nearly five kilograms.

If you are planning to buy a new flat screen monitor, there are some aspects you should consider. First, choose the resolution that is most appropriate to your needs. Next, assess the price. Generally, flat screen monitors will cost you about $200-$250 for a CRT screen while LCD flat panel monitors cost $500 to $700. Both LCD and CRT flat screen monitors have an average lifespan of about 5 to 7 years, and also come with warranty ranging from 1 to 3 years. Before you purchase, make sure that you do your research on the many different brands of flat screen monitors available in the market today. A flat screen monitor will definitely enhance your computing experience, whether for work or for play.

    Three Versions of PocketDISH

PocketDish is one of the latest entertainment innovations, brought to the market by EchoStar. The devices are designed to make it convenient to access videos, music, games and photos anytime and anyplace. With three separate versions of PocketDish, it is possible to store up to 40 hours of programming, 20,000 songs, and 400,000 photos. Movies and shows can be downloaded from DISH Network DVRs or other devices and watched in the car, a waiting room, or at a friend's house. Each device comes with a rechargeable battery that allows 4 hours of viewing time before recharging. Music and photos are also readily downloaded to give access to favorite songs and good memories at any location. With music playback only, the battery will last approximately 12 hours before needing to be refreshed. The other PocketDish feature is its gaming capability. Brain teasers, role-playing games and adventure games are all accessible in one small package.

Currently three versions of PocketDish are on the market. The AV402E is the entry-level version and offers many features. It houses a 2.2 inch LCD screen in a device that measures 4.2 in x 2.4 in x 0.7 in. The 20GB hard drive gives storage capacity of 20 hour of video, 10,000 songs, and 200,000 photos. This version does not contain a built-in DVR, so video programming must be transferred from select DISH Network DVR players. Audio and photos can, however, be transferred from any compatible source.

The AV500E is the middle version of PocketDish, offering more features than the AV402E. For roughly double the price, the 500 offers an extra 10GB of hard drive space and DVR capabilities. This device, with 30GB can store about 30 hours of video, 15,000 songs and 300,000 photos. It also has a larger LCD screen at 4 inches and a slightly larger body size. The biggest difference, though, is its ability to record shows from any TV, satellite receiver, cable box or VCR. Because it is a DVR, it can also be hooked up to a television to play any recorded shows on the larger screen.

The most advanced version is the AV700E. It has the same DVR capabilities as the 500, but includes 40GB in hard drive, allowing storage of 40 hours of video, 20,000 songs, and 400,000 photos. It also features a 7 inch screen for easier viewing. Both the AV500E and AV700E come complete with a remote control, docking station, removable battery and stand.

With all of the PocketDish models, programming can be downloaded free from compatible DISH Network DVRs or other devices. If a USB 2.0 port is used, one hour of programming can be downloaded within 5 minutes. The PocketDish can also be hooked up to a receiver without a compatible USB connection, but download time will increase to 1 hour for each hour of programming. All versions also allow software upgrades via satellite or the DISH Network website. Plus, PocketDish offers parental control locks to let parents limit kid's access to inappropriate programming.

PocketDish combines the capabilities of several audio-visual devices to offer a very versatile and portable technology. It offers many of the benefits of satellite TV in a hand-held format, plus storage and playing capacity for music, photos and games.

So, You’re In The Market For A Video Camera

There are momentous events that occur during our lives that later on, we will end up wishing we had on tape. Photographs are no longer the preferred method of storing memories, giving way to video cameras instead. As more technological advances are made, there are bigger and better video cameras on the market available for purchase. It is ultimately up to you to decide which video camera will best suit your needs.

A video camera can be a major purchase, and should be a well-informed and researched decision. There are a lot of resources available online or at your local bookstore that would be very helpful in your knowledge quest.

If you plan on recording for long periods of time, more than a couple of hours, you should try to opt for a video power that is an energy saver, or else you will spend your recording time changing out and recharging batteries. It is a good idea to have a couple of spare batteries anyway, just in case.

Most video cameras now come equipped with a viewfinder, which is much handier for the user than looking thru a little round hole, or eyepiece, to see what they are recording. The downside to recording and using the viewfinder, however, is that it sometimes can be a bigger drain on your battery time than just using the eyepiece. Using a viewfinder makes it much easier to film hard to reach shots, while allowing you better control over what you are filming.

Before making a purchase, you should familiarize yourself with digital and optical zoom. With optical zoom, you tend to get a nice sharp, well focused image. Digital zoom doesn’t offer a sharp picture; it’s basically a magnifying effect. You will probably be much better satisfied with a video camera that has both digital and optical zoom. Focus more on the optical zoom if you want high quality videos.

Many of today’s video cameras offer a feature called image stabilization. This feature helps prevent the video from being shaky and jumping all over the screen when you watch it, therefore producing a higher quality video. Image stabilization helps to filter out the normal shaking of the camera.

Some video cameras can now pose as still picture cameras as well, thus eliminating the need to take two cameras to events. You can get live and still shots in one piece of equipment.

One neat feature of some video cameras is the ability to record to DVD, which recently, seems to be the most preferred type of media.

If you are a newbie when it comes to shooting film, you can also opt for a video camera that will basically do everything for you but hold the camera. They come now equipped with auto focus and light adjustments, so all you have to do is press a button and shoot.

There is such a wide range of video cameras on the market today; it can become confusing when trying to decide which one will best suit your needs. Doing your homework beforehand, can help save you a lot of time, and possibly help ensure you truly do make a wise investment.

The Plasma to Choose Depends on the Plans for its Use

If you are trying to decide which TV is better for your life style, just take a look at your viewing styles. Will you watch in the light or will the room be dark? Will you and other viewers be centered in front of the TV or will your seating accommodations mean that some viewers will have to watch from a side angle? Take those aspects into consideration and make your decision. You can be assured that whichever decision you make, you will have a good picture and if you choose a quality brand, your plasma or LCD TV will last you a long, long time.

You decided to take the plunge. Your old LCD TV has been on its last legs for some time now and it has finally bitten the dust. There is no better time than the present to buy a plasma TV.

As you are picking out your new plasma TV, you need to ask yourself a couple of financial questions. 1.) Do you plan to keep your existing entertainment center or TV stand, and 2.) How much money can you afford to spend.

Let’s address the affordability issue first. Like with any new technology, plasma TVs will naturally remain a little more expensive than their predecessor for a little while. Once they become more common, the price will start to drop. If you have been pricing plasma TVs for a while, chances are that you have an idea of how much you will spend on the actual television itself. The real issue of affordability leans more to the accessories needed for your new plasma TV.

For instance, do you currently use your old television set to play video games on? If so, depending on how old your current TV is, you might have to consider a game upgrade or at least conversion attachments to make your old game system fit the new plasma TV.

Another issue of affordability relates back to Question 1. Do you plan to keep your existing entertainment center or TV stand? Why is this such a big deal? Plasma TVs tend to run a little larger than their LCD relatives. So, the entertainment center you have been using might not fit with the new plasma TV you are thinking about buying. If working around your existing furniture is not an issue, that’s great. If you can only afford the new TV and not a new entertainment set up, however, you will need to be mindful of your current furniture and what it will be able to accommodate.

Of course, you might choose to mount your new flat screen plasma TV to the wall, making your old entertainment center or TV stand obsolete. If that’s the case, remember to buy the brackets and hardware necessary for mounting. Follow the instructions to guarantee a solid mount for your new investment.

If you are buying a new plasma TV, keep in mind that one of its features is its sleek, new look. If you are putting the TV in a living room or den that has antique décor, it might not look like the room you have been accustomed to. Decide before buying if having a new fangled plasma TV in a room decorated with antiques will be an issue that vexes you. If it will bother you, decide now to buy a plasma TV that will fit inside an armoire type entertainment center that will fit your décor. You can close the doors to “hide” the sleek plasma TV. Otherwise, bring the plasma TV in and enjoy it. There’s a pretty good chance that once you see that clear picture, the other accessories in the room will seem so unimportant!
